Summary | 0011297: New russian translation of "issue" is doubtful
Description | I just want to vote for the previous russian translation of "issue" as "вопрос". The current translation "инцидент" (an incident) goes badly with such kind of issues as "feature" ("нововведение"), because feature is not incident at all! As far as I can see, "вопрос" was a great and mature choise.

Ah yes. I was waiting for Kirill to monitor this issue :) Please work this out among each other and make changes in translatewiki.net if needed. I suggest we close this issue, as it is not a bug per se, but rather a difference of opinion that has to be worked out. Alternatively you can work it out here; feel free to do that in Russian. Any changes to the translation in translatewiki.net will be reflected in git reasonably soon after. |
I can't agree, "вопрос" ("question") is much more misleading translation. "инцидент" ("incident") sounds so obscure for the more mortals that is completely suitable for the translation (: I can say there is no any good translation for the "issue" definition. |
You see, russian "вопрос" is not just "?". When somebody says "А теперь рассмотрим вопрос о внедрении квадратичных турбуляторов; докладчик по этому вопросу ведущий инженер Иванов" he means some issue to discuss or to resolve (!) etc, not a question to ask. So, feature request is really "вопрос для разработчика (но - не вопрос разработчику!)". Anyway, my users are not misleaded with "вопрос" and probably will be misleaded with "вопрос -> инцидент" update, so my personal choice is to keep old translation for our installation. P. S. Does translatewiki.net have some proper place to discuss translation decisions on the MantisBT project? |

@VYu: probably the most suitable location to discuss issues regarding translations into Russian is the Russian language portal: http://translatewiki.net/wiki/Portal_talk:Ru |
Your users doesn't, my users does. You don't want to update, I don't want to "update" too since we use 1.2 and never seen 1.1. |
I think Mantis not usefull place for talk about this issue. Come on to http://translatewiki.net/wiki/Portal_talk:Ru to talk about that. This issue can be closed |

OK, I have started http://translatewiki.net/wiki/Thread:Portal_talk:Ru/%D0%9E%D0%B1%D1%81%D1%83%D0%B6%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%B5_%D1%80%D1%83%D1%81%D0%B8%D1%84%D0%B8%D0%BA%D0%B0%D1%86%D0%B8%D0%B8_MantisBT. If somebody can send me the link to the discussion that had preceded the decision we talk about, it will be very helpful. Thanks in advance! |

All discussion has been here so far. Recent changes to the Russian localisation for MantisBT are available on translatewiki.net[1]. Marking this issue as 'won't fix', because developers cannot resolve this. |
