Mantis 1.0.7: Need to have URL in problem descriptions

The attachments repository of our project is on a Novell server, Mantis is running on a Linux box with no connection to that server.
I would like to have the server URL (like "<file://T:\bla/foo/org>") as a clickable link on each problem report form - how do I accomplish that? I tried manipulating a custom field, but found no decent solution.
