What PHP version are you using? PHP 5.3.x is not supported by the 1.1.x releases. We are working on supporting it in the 1.2.x releases. Hence, I suggested either trying it 1.2.0rc2 or downgrading your PHP to 5.2.x.

Has this been fixed in the current version (1.2.3)? Can we use Mantis on PHP 5.3 yet? Thanks.

1.2.3 does not contain any call to function ereg_replace, so this should be fixed.
If you want to use PHP 5.3 you should install latest stable version (5.3.3 atm). There are some known bugs with older versions.
