How to setup the future of enabling email notifications

Hi

I am making the Mantis web server service
Could you advise me to enable the notification future via email with protocol settings of pop and smtp etc?
System environment is below;

・Windows Server 2016 Essentials
・IIS 10
・Mantis 1.0.0rc4

This is a very old version, released in December 2005.
Don't expect to get any support for it in case of problems.

I had a short look at the documentation of this version and found

--- Requirements ----------
* MySQL 3.23.2 and higher
* PHP 4.0.6 and higher

I assume there will be problems when trying to run these old MySQL and PHP versions on Windows Server 2016 Essentials and IIS 10.

Concerning the SMTP settings, search file config_defaults_inc.php for 'smtp'.
Have also a look at file doc/CUSTOMIZATION

I never used this old version and can't provide more help.
