upload file in edit news page

is it possible to add the functionality to upload file when creating or editing news by settings? i'm trying it by addind the function (code) of upload file in the page! but i can not display the file attached on the main page. i'm trying to refer to the bug attachment file code but it still difficult to me to identify which files i have to edit.

hello! i'm using mantis1.0.0a2 and i want to add possibility to upload files in the edit news page and show them on the main_page.php..
i also want to send mail to concerning users after posting a news. thanks
