Problem with the "Lost password" link on the login page

Post by andr01dm »

Hello.

I've recently discovered an odd issue with a Mantis site that I have set up.

When a user visits login_page.php, if they are not logged in and click on the "Lost your password?" or the "Signup for a new account" links instead of being sent to the appropriate page, the login_page.php refreshes with a different URL. For example: http://blahblah.com/mantis/login_page.php?return=/mantis/lost_pwd_page.php

However if the user -is- logged in and visits the login_page.php and clicks on one of these links they are shown the right page.

I'm sure there must be something mis-configured somewhere but after poking around in the code I've not been able to puzzle it out. (My knowledge of PHP is pretty rudimentary.)

Mantis version: 1.0.3

config_inc.php (note, I've put in underscores in place of sensitive data):

You should update to a newer version of MantisBT which is still supported. 1.0.3 is pretty old.
Maybe your problem is fixed after update. If not, there is a better chance for you to find users with the same probem and to get it fixed.
Please use Search before posting and read the Manual

Unfortunately that isn't an option, as the site has had a lot of customization done to it. (Which might be responsible for this problem..?) Re-doing all of the customizations on a newer version of Mantis would take a loooong time.

Maybe these are further options for you
http://www.mantisbt.org/consulting.php
Write email to MantisBT developer mailing list
Write email to MantisBT help mailing list

Just a speculation:
try setting the following variable in your config_inc.php according your installation
$g_path = 'http://www.example.com/mantis/';
Please use Search before posting and read the Manual

Hello, atrol. Thank you for replying.

Unfortunately adding $g_path had no effect. I'll try emailing the lists you've suggested. Thank you. :)

Hello. We are using old MantisBT 1.2.18 and we had the exact same problem.

I solved it by just editing the file "lost_pwd_page.php" and removing its last line:

Code: Select all

html_page_bottom1a( __FILE__ );
and then adding just this at the end of that file:

Code: Select all

?>
The reset password page now works also for non-logged in users.
