I apologize if this is a FAQ.

I did try and search, but phpBB wants to ignore the version numbers.

My MantisBT installation is convinced it's version 2.4.0 ... is it confused?

I didn't think anything about this until I came here to download a new version.

I've attached a screenshot of the "Site Information" page.

Someone changed the entry within core/constants_inc.php for MANTIS_VERSION to 2.40.
Check when this file was last changed........

Why do you think that 2.4.0 is wrong?
2.4.0 has been released in April 2017 and it seems you installed it in May 2017
