out-of-office message causes endless loop

Hey guys,
I'm facing an issue with EmailReporting-0.10.1 and out-of-office (OOO) messages from other email inboxes.
One of our developers had set up an OOO message during his vacation. During his absence an ticket was closed he was assigned to, so he received a notification and his OOO message was sent to the Mantis mailbox. As a result of that a new note was added to the closed ticket and another notification was sent to him and you guessed it... another loop of email notification started. Kind of an endless loop
Is there any way to avoid this behavior instead of asking every user to switch off his or her notification during absence in a case an OOO was set up?
