[Editor] In Mantis 0.18.2, "Assign To Me" was replaced with "Assign To" with a list of possible users. This allows the manager to assign bugs to himself or to other developers.
Just started to test the system so I don't know if this feature is actaully available, but it would be good if it is possible for a manager to assign the bug to a person. Right now, it seems as if the person has to be assigned the task outside the system, and then this person goes to click on the Assign to Me button.

Version 0.18.3
It is now possible to assign bugs using the assign to: button, but it is not possible to assign a bug back to the reporter.
This is part of the tracking flow where it would be requested of the reporter to enter more info (feedback), or as is often the case, the reporter will be testing the fixed bug. |

In the "Assign To" field, I would like to remove that option and have all tickets under specific projects to be assigned automatically by default to one particular person - How do I go about accomplishing that?

I would like to know the role of Private and Public in View Status in Report Bug.
if a User X assigns a bug to User Y with the view status as Private then the bug can be viewed by X and Y.Is it so? If not give me the details of what it does? |

| What is the purpose of the private issues? I hoped they could work as my reminder or notes for potential issues and would be visible for me only. Unfortunately everyone can see them. |

This is how Private works:
Reporter and updater can't see private Issues in View Issues or my View. Can not also see private notes or Announcements.
Developer can see Private Issues, but can not see private notes or Private Annoucements.
Manager can see Private Issues, but can not see private notes or Private Annoucments.
Administrator can see all. Including other Private Annoucments made by other Admins.
Private Projects can only be seen by the person (any level) that it is assigned to. Admin's can see all Private Projects. |

I defined a project with differents users: manager, developers, reporter.
When the Manager has to "assign to", it is only possible to assign it to managers or administrator.
I don't know if this point is a restriction or it could be set from the Manage Panel.

How can I assign all bugs for a particular project to a specfic user? Specifically, we are trying to fit Mantis for production support issue tracking and I would like all of the issues opened by our customer representatives to be assigned automatically to our helpdesk. Then, our help desk can either resolve them or send them up the chain.

HI there,
When an issue is raised and say we wana assigned to somebody, why the administarator is also listed , I mean ,IS there any hack kind to avoid the name of administrator specially O,here......
