CodevTT - Project Management on Mantis

CodevTT is a ProjectManagement & TimeTracking application on top of MantisBT.

http://codevtt.org
https://github.com/lbayle/codev

Audience: Companies/Managers which teams have to deal with workload, deadlines and customer contracts (OpenSource projects are generally not concerned by all this).

CodevTT offers an easy way to fill Timesheets, and grabs information from the Mantis DB to generate reports, statistics, WBS, planning, alerts, gantt, and many progress and production indicators.

Mantis data and timesheets are kept up to date by the developpers on a daily basis, so the team leader using CodevTT will have realtime information on the project progress without creating any overload on the team members. Progress indicators and Alerts allow him to concentrate on the 'hot points' and waste less time on global supervision.
The ServiceContract & Commands view will give you reports and progression indicators for your customer.
Statistics on short-medium-long term will help to take the right decisions to increase the team's efficiency and productivity.
CodevTT is an efficient link between the team and the management. Its goal is to give concrete and reliable information on your projects/teams/contracts and intends to reduce the management costs of your projects.

After 4 years of development and almost as much of production in several teams of our company, CodevTT has become mature enough to be presented to the community.

Feedback is welcome,

best regards

Wow,
at first sight this is really great stuff!
I hope I can say the same, after I find some time to have a little deeper look at the implementation.

Maybe you want to move the repository to https://github.com/mantisbt-plugins to get some more publicity?

I'm not sure about posting to mantisbt-plugins, as CodevTT is not a Mantis Plugin: it is a
complete software installed beside Mantis but sharing the same DB.
We do have a mantis plugin, but only to integrate some CodevTT
features in Mantis.

but, yes, maybe I should :-)

kelson, this is the MantisBT forum.
You should use http://codevtt.org/site/?forum=help if there are any problems concerning CodevTT.
lbayle, do you agree?

I can also offer an own forum at http://www.mantisbt.org/forums/viewforum.php?f=12 and an own project at http://www.mantisbt.org/bugs
As you decided to not move your code to https://github.com/mantisbt-plugins you will probably also go on with your own forum and bugtracking.
Am I right?

Hi kelson, atrol.

I agree that questions on CodevTT should gi to codevtt.org.

@atrol: actualy, I have not taken any decision on moving the code to mantis-plugins, it is probably a good Idea, I'm just not sure on 'when' this is going to happen.
I already have a bugtracking on CodevTT (not yet open), It would be neccessary to import all the existing issues, so this is an other question.

thank you,
best regards

rombert (one of the core developers) did the same with his development of the "Mylyn Connector"
I am quite sure we will support you with his tools if you decide to move to our tracker.
How many issues do you have in your system?

Not that much, there are about 200 issues. But I also use CodevTT to manage the development (eat your own dog's food), which means that CodevTT has to be installed on your server (tables need to be added to the mantis database) and I am quite sure that you do not want to do this (unless you think CodevTT would be usefull for some of your projects).
Also, moving to your tracker would proboably mean "changing" the bugids of the issues, and not only updating Mantis tables, but also CodevTT tables, and this is a lot of work too.

What could be possible, is migrating the code and starting with a new Mantis project on your tracker when CodevTT v1.0.0 comes out, which will probably happen at the end of 2013. So this is why I said that "I'm not sure on 'when' this is going to happen"

Thank you,
