Mantis BT 2.0 (2.1.0) requirements
Hi! I saw on this page http://mantisbt.org/bugs/view.php?id=21841&nbn=11 that MySQL 5.5.35 is required to support UTF8MB4. I have MySQL 5.5.51 version, but when I installed Mantis BT 2.1 it created tables with utf8_general_ci collation. Why?

I installed MantisBT on another hosting and collation still remains the same.
Did you removed UTF8MB4 support?

Not removed, it has never been implemented but is targeted for future version, see http://mantisbt.org/bugs/view.php?id=20431Mario Balanica wrote:Did you removed UTF8MB4 support?

And if i want to upgrade, the installation will edit the collation by itself, or i should do that from phpMyAdmin?atrol wrote:Not removed, it has never been implemented but is targeted for future version, see http://mantisbt.org/bugs/view.php?id=20431Mario Balanica wrote:Did you removed UTF8MB4 support?

This question can't be answered before there is a final implementation.Mario Balanica wrote:And if i want to upgrade, the installation will edit the collation by itself, or i should do that from phpMyAdmin?

Ok, but the next version will remain compatible with version 2.1.0, no?atrol wrote:This question can't be answered before there is a final implementation.Mario Balanica wrote:And if i want to upgrade, the installation will edit the collation by itself, or i should do that from phpMyAdmin?

Depends on what you mean with "compatible".Mario Balanica wrote: but the next version will remain compatible with version 2.1.0, no?
There might be database schema changes if needed, but there will not be any bump up for minimum requirements for PHP, DBMS or Web server.
There will also be no removal of existing functions or any changes that break plugins.
