How to enable https access on v1.2.19

Just installed v1.2.19 on ubuntu 14.04 server.

Everything works fine but cannot enable https on it. I changes the t_protocol attribute to "https". It redirects the page, which is fine but then nothing.

Can someone please let me know what I need to do to enable https. Do i need to install openssl and create my self-signed certificate? Do I need to make any changes in mantis.conf file under /apache2/sites-enabled?
