Cannot install Mantis

Post by Noki »

Hello,

I cannot seem to get Mantis to install. I'm always plagued by the "BAD Does administrative user have access to the database? ( Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) )" error.

- I have used chown to make the owner of the Mantis folder www-data (recursive).
- I also have 755 chmod privileges in the Mantis folder (recursive).
- MySQL is 100% correct.
- The MySQL password has some symbols in it. Could this be the cause maybe?
- I'm using the root MySQL account (and yes, remote connections are enabled via root).
- I've tried connecting to localhost, 127.0.0.1, my IP and the domain name tied to the IP. Nothing has worked (I do have the ports forwarded).

I am absolutely out of luck. I would appreciate any help. Thank you.
Mantis: 1.2.19
PHP: 5.4.41-0+deb7u1
MySQL: 5.5.43-0+deb7u1
