Running mantisbt as a subdomain?

Post by menre »

Hi Volks,

Hope someone can help me out with my problem please.

I want to be able to run mantisbt from my website address like this: http://mantisbt.mywebsite.com.

I created a subdomain and folder for mantisbt from my web hosting server and I uploaded the mantisbt application files to that (mantisbt) folder on the server using an ftp client successfully. But when Itried to do the installation from http://mantisbt.mysite.com it says web server not found.
However, when I tried http://mantisbt.mywebsite.com/mantisbt/ ... nstall.php, I was able to do the installation successfully.

Now, I can only access the mantisbt application from the addresses below.

http://mantisbt.mywebsite.com/mantisbt/login_page.php OR
http://www.mywebsite.com/mantisbt/login_page.php

My questions please are
1) How can I install it so that I can access it through a subdomain route like http://mantisbt.mywebsite.com?
2) Do I need to change anything in the configuration file to successfully do this?
3) Is it generally possible to run mantisbt as a subdomain route application?

I was able to install some other applications with a subdomain on the same webserver.

I will appreciate your help please.

With kind regards,
Menre

I am not able to reproduce the issue with latest stable MantisBT version 1.2.17
Which version do you use?

Not sure if this is the problem, but I have no time for more tests.

I had an existing installation <myDomain>/mantisbt that has been installed without an existing subdumain.
To reproduce your issue I created <mySubDomain> that points to <myDomain>/mantisbt/ (maybe the trailing slash is important)
Now I am able to access <mySubDomain> without any issues.
