Custom status type... now goofed up submission behavior.

So, I created custom status types and they work great! However, now when I Report an Issue, it comes in a @50@ and is hidden. I have to go up to the search filter in the View Issues view and select to hide none. Locate the @50@ entry and switch the status type to what I want it to be. How do I make it come in visible in my list and with a status type of new rather than whatever @50@ is/was? Thanks ahead of time!
