How install/integrate plugin

Postby OrangeTux » Jan 23, 2012 8:30 am

How do I install/integrate this plugin:
https://github.com/mantisbt-plugins/announce

I copied the all folders into the plugin folder.
But when i go to ...//plugins/Announce/Announce.php an error appears:

Code: Select all
Fatal error: Class 'MantisPlugin' not found in ../support/plugins/Announce/Announce.php on line 6

Plugins are installed by using the page "Manage" - "Manage Plugins" after copying them to the plugin folder
Please use Search before posting and read the Manual
Use Mantis2Go to try MantisBT on Windows or to reproduce issues

Hi,

I begin to have a full detailed process for installing plugins to use for newbie "who have never installed a plugin and start from the URL(s) :
http://deboutv.free.fr/mantis/plugin.php?plugin=Wiki
http://deboutv.free.fr/mantis/download.php
http://bugtracker.morinie.fr/mantis/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=mantis:start:plugin_list

the sentence :

"Manage Plugins" after copying them to the plugin folder

Can be mysterious and can be a trick : what is "to copy a plugin (them) to plugin subdir" :
pkg files, sometimes tar.gz... ???

What happens before and after "copy" when you "hit" "manage-plugins" ? etc...
I have not found a "tutorial on plugins" till now.

Best regards

The plugins of this author are not compatible with MantisBT 1.2
They use their own installation plugin/mechanism and not the standard plugin mechanism which is delivered with MantisBT.
If you want to use them you can try to get help at http://forum.morinie.fr/mantis/
Please use Search before posting and read the Manual

Hi,

Thanks.

What was not clear, because I don't took care to urls, is that because the plugins providers use quite the same logo as MantisBT.org.

So each of them presents their site as the lonely one and the applied rules as those of MantisBT.
I do believe that a way to forbid the use of a not explicit header using Mantis logo
The idea should that to allow providers and developers of plugin to use the MantisBT logo but to be obliged to add an explicit text as

Image Plugins provided by ...

use "our MantisBT plugins ...." not "MantisBT plugins are... in their text.

This is quite clear for sites like :
- ECLIPSE and the Market place
- Mozilla and the add-ons

Although I'm not a newbie, I was confused and misled by the similarity of headers. I have looked in details and could see that these header are not exactly the same but studied copies made to mislead the user.

The best way, may be, should be to allow the use of logo but with rules and to be without pardon for misleaders (blacklist ?)

Best regards
