migration of issues from Mantis to another Mantis

Post by mates215 »

Hi. I would like to ask.

In our company we have got Mantis twice. Lets say A and B. Mantis A is full of active projects. Mantis B has the only one project. I would like to import all issues from Mantis B to Mantis A (to avoid of ID's duplications). Then B will be deleted.

Is it possible ?

In the worse case Mantis A will be for new issues and B would be "history". I have to keep old issues.

I have only read some instruction how to import between Mantis and Jira. How it works between Mantis and Mantis ? :)

Thanks

There are different options, each of them with pros and cons.
I never tried any of them myself, so I can't tell you more.
Of course, you should backup your database before importing.

1) Use XML Import / Export plugin which is part of MantisBT (if not installed, goto Manage > Manage plugins)
2) Use Export CSV on "View Issues" page, use this 3rd party plugin to import https://github.com/mantisbt-plugins/csv-import
3) Seems to push from database to database without intermediate files https://www.mantisbt.org/bugs/view.php?id=10225

It is possible to do this in Mantis 1.3.0 ? There is the new import section in settings. However XML excel export seems to be wrong. I tried to export something - but importing is 0 problems.

am i doing something wrong ?
