database is not supported by PHP SQL 2008

Dear support,
I'm new to Mantis and has issue on the first install. Below is what my environment.

It's a two tiers environment
1. Windows 2008 R2 x 64 bits Application server (PHP 5.3.9 installed, IIS with CGI installed, PHP SQL server install)
2. SQL 2008 server (BugTracker database created, an account with sa privellege also created)

During the install, a server database, database name,username, password were provided. The install check went through except it produced error as "BAD database is not supported by PHP. Check that it has been compiled into your server.

Questions:
Does the PHP requires to install on the SQL server as well?
Do I have to specify the Microsoft SQL Server on the PHP.ini file? If yes how to
Do I have to enable the SQLSRV driver? If yes how to.

Again, I'm newly to the forumn. Thank you for all giving a help.
