Hi raghu..

Do you give rights to reporter to access the bug for edit?
just check below steps for solution:
-login as admin
-go to manage>manage user
-click on specific user which has rights as 'Reporter'

  • Do you see the options for rights to user to give as per project?
-if you want to allow to reporter to edit the bug then add all available project with updater or developer rights.
    May be it helps you

raghu, what is the value of $g_allow_reporter_close in your config (by default it's OFF) ? With this set to ON, a reporter can close their own issue, without actually needing edit rights. This is done via the "Change Status To" button which is displayed below the view issue details form.

This was fixed in 0011502, in release 1.2.4.

If you confirm that this is what your problem is, then I guess this issue should be closed as duplicate.

If you actually intend the reporter to be able to EDIT their own issues (only) then this is a duplicate of 0008141 for which there is currently no solution (that I'm aware of).
